EXCENOL <General Name > Polyether Polyols
Product summary
This is a polyether polyol created using AGC Chemicals' alkylene oxide adding technology and is used mainly as a raw material of polyurethane.
AGC Chemicals has created various products for use in soft foam, semi-hard foam, hard foam, CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealing materials and elastomers), plasticizers, etc. to respond to various needs.
Features
This is a polyether polyol created using AGC’s alkylene oxide adding technology and is used mainly as a raw material of polyurethane.
General name: polyether polyol
Other names: PPG (polypropylene glycol), polyalkylene glycol
< Polyol production reaction >
It is made by a reaction of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in the presence of a basic catalyst.
Polyalcohol and amine are used as initiator.
Main uses
It is a raw material of foam and non-foam polyurethane resins and fluorosurfactants.
By adjusting the number of terminal functional groups and molecular weight of the initiator, the performance of the polyurethane changes.
It is used in a wide range of applications from flexible soft foam to hard foam with a high crosslink density.
2 to 4 terminal functional groups and a molecular weight of 1,000 to 5,000:
Soft polyurethane foam for use in furniture and car seat cushions, and waterproof materials, sealing materials, etc.
3 to 8 terminal functional groups and a molecular weight of 500 to 1,000:
Hard polyurethane foam for use in electric refrigerators and heat insulation materials for construction, etc.
Packing
Packing is in drums (200 kg) and lorries.
